Mount Ortsveri (4220m.) is a neighbor of Mount Kazbek. Its name translates as “two peak”. It is very convenient to climb two mountains in one expedition. Both mountains have it same approach and Base Camp.
There are more than 4 routes and options to the peak, most of them are rocky, snowy, and icy. In winter time it is popular to climb the north face ice route.
The classic route starts from 3700 meters, you have to cross the Gergeti glacier and the route continues through the ridge to the summit. The main challenge is finding a right way through the crevasses.
Technically it is not difficult to climb this route. mountaineering experience will be great and useful, but it's not required. It is important to climb with an experienced guide.
High season: middle of July — end of August. Weather is the most stable. This is the most comfortable time for climbing. However, we offer climbs at any time of the year.
